Mintos review: What I have experienced so far…
This Lending platform is very friendly to foreign investors (or for those who do not speak Latvian language). Though, the process of registration was easy enough and most of the site is rather intuitive to use.The final step of registration requires to deposit money. There is a possibility to deposit funds in 7 different currencies: EUR, CZK, PLN, DKK, GEL, RON, GBP. After you deposit funds you can convert without leaving Mintos dashboard:
However, even there are around 16000 loan offers most of those offers will be in Eur. Actually, I am not sure if it is worth to invest in different currencies as there is currency risk and your returns might be eaten very fast if the political and economical situation in certain countries will change.
Netherveless, There is a good supply of loans. Most of the investments in loans secured by buyback guarantees. So I don’t have to worry much about individual defaults risks of these loans but rather about the operator risk: will the loan provider be able to fullfill the buyback guarantees.
Minto’s has finally sorted out there auto-invest tool and it works perfectly. Simply set your investing criteria from the filters and Minto’s will do the rest. It is possible to get returns in the 20% range if you are willing to take high risks.
Mintos is one of my favorite p2p lending platforms. I think it’s worth considering, especially if you live in the EU to allocate some part of your portfolio to Mintos, especially if you are looking for a higher returns.
