Brickstarter review: What I have experienced so far

Firstly, some words about opening account at Brickstarter. For me it was easy process, all I needed was to click login with Google account (you also can choose to do that with Facebook or do full registration). Need to mention that registration with Facebook did not work and half of the registration fields were in Spanish (even once I chose english language). And that’s it. Later you have to upload your ID card copy to Brickstarter dashboard and wait for confirmation.

Add funds to Brickstarter account also is enough easy. You can use SEPA to transfer funds. It usually takes up to one working day to see funds at your account. However, first of all you need to go through KYC at Brickstarter in order to be able to deposit funds.

Secondly, some facts about my experience at Brickstarter. The approach the platform is using is interesting. They say: BrickStarter has developed its own proprietary tools based on big data analysis from websites like Airbnb and Homeaway, that let the company predicts the best locations and property type. Once the property is working and has demonstrated it´s profitable, it becomes very appealing for any final buyer who will purchase the apartment with its furniture, license and future bookings. Brickstarter launched its operations by the end of 2017 and has developed opportunities in Valencia, Alicante, Malaga and Cádiz, giving away returns close to 20% (IRR), when the properties are sold. Most of the projects listed there have maximum of 10% interest rates. However, Brickstarter states that once the real estate project is sold you as investor will be able to have returns up to 20%. Let’s wait for this and see if it can become a reakity. Otherwise, 10% stable returns are good as well.

All in all, Brickstarter already has experience in p2p lending industry. Returns are quite solid (up to 10%). However, the platform is not user-friendly. Part of the websites is in spanish, part in english. Some tools are not working (you cannot login with Facebook account).
